I guess I’ll continue to write mini updates if something interesting happens.
Today we went to the Cathedral to welcome Darren and Molly (Aussie/Kiwi) on their way into the square. I took a photo of them doing the “jump”. Super cute. The place was packed and there was a fun band.
I got the Holy Year Compostela from the Benedictine Monks at the San Francisci Church. This one has my actual name on it in English. They only give 1,000 a day (from what I’ve heard) and only during the Holy Year. I got it last year as well (the official Holy Year – this year is a bonus because of Covid) so I’m expecting to be sitting on the left side of God when I die because now all my sins have been forgiven TWICE with these back to back Camino’s. I apparently have a completely clean slate. I wonder if this also counts for future sins I’m going to commit going forward since it’s like a double whammy?

We are adding a few more days to our Camino. Tomorrow Dora and Pablo are going to start walking the trek to Muxia (End of The World), a town by the ocean. I’m joining them but by bus and a taxi for the first few days. I hope to be able to walk into Muxia once my leg has healed. This little journey takes about four days. The original “End of The World” is Finesterre but I’ve already been there on my first Camino so we are going to Muxia and then I’ll come back to Santiago and they will walk on to Finesterre. It will make more sense if you look at it on Google maps.
Pablo is a Saint. He has helped me figure out the bus situation and has set up a taxi since the bus doesn’t go directly to the town we are staying in the first night. I’m very glad we are back with Pablo. He is so kind and helpful. I really appreciate him.
I love the way the cyclists hold their bikes up in front of the cathedral when they arrive at the square. Makes for a fun photo! 🚴
